Today's Blessing of the Animals News

From Pittsburg, Pennsylania comes this news: "A blessing of the animals service will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday on the grounds of Crafton United Presbyterian Church, 80 Bradford Ave. Participants may stop at any time during those hours. Pets will receive treats and a certificate. For details, call 412-921-2293. Church membership is not required..."

Over in Blairsville, Georgia there will be a bark in the parkfor the humane society's mountain shelter. These types of events are really fun. Check your local area for similar festivities but during the summer months make sure you have plenty of water and provide some sort of shade.

Anyone live in the Mackinac Island, Michigan area? If so, let me know as I found this blessing of the animal announcement. It used to be that blessing of the animals events only took place a couple of times a year. Do you see how main stream these celebrations have become?

Over in Charlotte, North Carolina BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS: Ceremony 11 a.m. June 24, Humane Society of Catawba County shelter, 3476 Valley Arbors Drive, Hickory, behind Target. Public is welcome; all dogs must be leashed and cats in carriers. Other pets welcome. Details: 828-327-3878.

I'd like to do a phone chat with those of you who have subscribed. Stay tuned for details...I am testing a new service and would like to have you submit your questions and stories in a week or so...then chat about them.
