Olvera Street Blessing of the Animals Today

Today is the annual Blessing of the Animals at Olvera Street in Los Angeles.

The event remains one of my favorites and was the original catalyst for the focus of my book, Blessing of the Animals: A Guide to Prayers & Ceremonies Celebrating Pets & Other Creatures.

The event begins at Noon and goes until 5pm. There are vendors, entertainers and food.

The procession starts at 2pm so drop by if you can. To avoid parking issues I recommend you take the trains into Union Station--just walk across the street to Olvera Street.
