Blessing of the Animals: More St Anthony

I am always on the lookout for more posts and articles about pet and animal blessings. I was pleasantly surprised to find a post mentioning Blessing of the Animals and the pet medals we offer over at Lassie Get Help which led me to this animal blessing gallery (which I might have posted before).

St. Anthony doesn't get the same attention as St Francis--could be the weather but here is another snap--without the animals.

St Anthony's Feast Day in Mexico

Above: Photo by Daniel Aguilar (Reuters) to encourage you to visit the stories about the Blessing of the Animals during the Feast Day of St. Anthony that circulated just a few days ago.

Blessing of the Animals--Light Connection Review...

No, I have not dropped off the face of the earth--just have been swamped. I just got a copy of the review of Blessing of the Animals in the Light Connection, a San Diego Magazine. It will only be up through January 2008 so check it out.

Before I run out the door--I just wanted to remind you that the 17th of January is the Feast Day of St Antonio de Abad.

So, this means you should be on the look out for pet blessing events in your area. I'll be back with more later!

Casber the Winged Ring Bearer

I've been busy with other projects but wanted you to see this article from the BBC about Casber--a Barn Owl that has been trained to be a ring bearer and who will fly in with the wedding rings.

All I can say is that I hope he doesn't fly off because that did happen in a colleague's wedding. They trained a cockatoo to fly with the rings and the bird flew off!

Moral? Give the bird fake rings and pretend that he flew them in!
